I found the first chapter of the following book of readings to be useful (pp. 1-17).
Ragin, C. C. and H. S. Becker (1992). What is a Case? Exploring the Foundations of Social Inquiry. Cambridge University Press.
The following text illustrates how different styles can be used to write up the same material. After reading this text, authors can subsequently explicitly choose the style they prefer.
Van Maanen, J. (1988). Tales of the field: On writing ethnography. Chicago: The University of Chicago Press.

While there are many books, I believe these three should provide you interesting materials to use in your workshop.

One point that i shall want to assert here is that grounded theory should be taught through a simulated exercise and practice for all the qualitative research techniques should be given through field exercises and feedback
