I want to use a fsQCA to analyse my data. I just work with SPSS, which has no tools to run a QCA. The best developed tool for QCA seems to be R with the packages QCA and SetMethods. I now that SPSS is able to integrate R commands. But is it convenient? Or would you recommend to use R from the outset?

Looking at the tutorial Taha Eser points you to reveals that working with R in SPSS does not get you around programming in R. Do yourself a favor and use R right away. Almost any data files can be imported easily and for the actual data analysis you will need only a few simple commands, totally unlike this ugly interfacing stuff.
Perhaps, this is also just your first time to hit the limits of SPSS ...
Dump SPSS and install RStudio as an R interface. You will find the greater power of R rather addictive!
I recommend the datacamp basic R course (it's free!) as a starter.
It is a terminological overlap:
** in your field (engineering) QCA means Quantum-dot cellular automata,
** whereas in my field (sociology) QCA means Qualitative Comparative Analysis.(Use the software R)

thank you so much for your comments and hints. It is possible to use R commands with SPSS, but I tend to put my efforts into using R right away. Mojtaba Niknezhad Divshali , I am also in the social sciences and meant Qualitative Comparative Analysis!
