Hello my name is Mario and I have been working on the Mg-Al-Fe controls in Uranium mines.
Recently we have discovered another powerful toxic element control mineral non Fe-phase (Mg-Al Hydrotalcite) never before seen (30 years) at the world's largest Uranium Mill (Key Lake, Cameco Corp). http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/es400658f and other articles by colleagues (doi:10.1016/j.hydromet.2014.08.010) that has shown Mg-Al phases to provide a similar control with the usual ferrihydrite.
I am finishing working on for the produced Key Lake mill and DTMF products abiotic anoxic reductive dissolution which has resulted in very nice and positive results for testing; evaluating, and determining the long term stability of the tailings.

Dear Mario, I am not very clear on your questions. I am also interested in the phase transformation of As-bearing minerals.
Please clarify the question. What do you like to do; What are you adding to the soil, etc.
Do you have a recent publication on the oxides?

Dear all since it is my first time posting a question, forgive my form. I assumed the question would go to the authors of the paper.
I was just pondering since so much reduction of Arsenic work has focused on Fe only, it would be interesting to see how Al-Mg phases such as oxides or hydroxides behave under similar reducing environments. I have one paper on this which may be of interest but is limited to tailings in that environment.
