Hi, I've been experiencing lots of troubles with the CU 950 controller unit of an old (but really useful) Akta 100 explorer system. Of course the idea is replacing that unit and keep going. But in the meantime I'm really thinking about avoiding both the CU 950 and the Unicorn software.... Has anyone ever tried to do that?

(if still relevant) are you sure you mean the CU 950? It's a computer interface and dos not connect directly to the UV and conductivity monitors?
Dear Wolfgang, unfortunately the CU 950 acts as an interface between the monitors output and the controller software (Unicorn). Thus, every command to actuators (such as pumps) has to be given locally. Same happens with UV, pressure and conductivity monitors, every read has to be performed in the display and not through the software. Then, run performance and registering becomes particullarly cumbersome. Since monitors signals have a voltage output, I was wondering if anyone had ever had the experience to connect this outputs through any intermediate signal translator that could then export the signal (via an USB or similar ports) to a software interface installed in a CPU. Luckily, I managed to buy a new CU 950.... but who knows what might happen in the future... thanks for your help!
