I am looking to attach a photometer for some research involving the moons in our solar system as my undergraduate research project and need some equipment reviews/suggestions.
I have indeed, but it was 1982 (at the James C. Veen Observatory of the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association with a 12.5-inch Newtonian reflector), but I'm sure that Jerry Persha's technology has changed since then.
I tried the solid state Optec SSP3 at my 8" Newtonian (1980). It was quite simple to handle, but it lacked severely sensitivity. Its now obsolete. Consider the use of any CCD camera, its another world...
