Hi all,

I have a lovely old machine from 90s, a Renishaw RM1000/2000 that I am recommissioning to run some samples. The spectrometer seems to work and was working fine but the PC harddrive stopped working. I have since replaced this and have all the original installation disks, however once everything is installed I am having a "Read Plug Error" and the software will not open. If you have any experience this that would be great?

The closest solution I found on another form stated this error was due to a serial number read error between the software and the hardware, however I have not been able to sort this.

Other details:

The operating system is windows 98.

PC I believe is the original, the only new part is the harddrive.

Read Plug error appears for both the grams/32 software that is install before the Renishaw Wire 1.3 software.

PC to instrument interface is via an ISA expansion board with a dsub37 plug and coaxial cable.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Liam
