@ Prof Almira, successfully i have been able to functionalized my ferrofluid with APTES using sonication approach and subsequently i will use your approach to coat Gold nanoparticles on it. thanks for your paper posted.

It is very easy to prepare the gold coated iron oxide nanomaterials . You can refer our paper published-in J. Mater. Chem. A, 2013, 1, entitled One pot synthesis of magnetite–silica nano composites:applications as tags, entrapment matrix and in water purification .Then after fomation of iron oxide ,coating of gold NPs either by chemical reduction or photo reduction under UV light will be made possible.
