It can b a possibility of being a second green revolution. The main thing is common people have misunderstanding of these GM crops. That's y it is not yet gaining a gud future. GM crops needed further researches(ie it shud nt affect biodiversity..) and common people hve to gain better understanding of the beneficial effects.By using this v can eliminate pesticides like endosulphan completely...
As u put the word misunderstanding .. i learned from the newspaper that madhya pradesh government banned GM crops because they are non vegetarian since the genes are taken from animal cells. This is the most awful reason i have ever heard..
exactly!! he being in such a high position thinking that the gm crops to be a non vegan is utterly unacceptable.how can he behave so. this will lead to such a big misunderstanding as common people will follow their leaders and as of now there has been many misconceptions about gm crops already and now such a statement from such a person is to be severely condemned!!
our ecology is detoriating day by day so do our biodiversity... in that case.. the researchers employed this method.... If we have not destroyed the forest, we would have employed a sustainable agriculture. but the forest is destroyed and no crops can be grown in the fallow land.. hence drought resistant plants are produced by genetic engineering.. We are the reason for the bringing the GM crops... and we are obstacle for bringing to daily use.
thats why education should be made mandatory for the candidates in politics. minimum knowledge and suitable ad visor would prove valuable to the society.
I think that there should be no GM crops because they cannot solve the challenges of hunger. In India hunger is not a challenge of insufficient production of food. In 2016 India exported more than 10 million tons of rice earning more than USD 5 billion from it. It is just that overseas people have more purchasing power to buy rice from Indian compared to many people at home. To produce even more food at even higher production costs will not solve the challenge poor people have to access rice or other food grains.
What India needs more urgently is to reduce poverty, to bring more people into decent employment.
