Hi there,

I am currently working on Ecological Niche Modelling/Habitat Distribution according to abiotic factors (e.g. mainly current climatology, topography, types of soils etc), and using GBIF dataset for species occurences.

That said, I am facing a problem with debiasing species occurrences since GBIF is a datapool mixing up a lot of contributions, contributors, with specific research questions and/or sampling strategies.

I tried to search extensively how to get that kind of metadata information (according to the dataset I downloaded: "references", "rights holders", "institution code", "data provider" etc).

I was wondering if you experienced such questionings about sampling strategies from OpenAccess naturalist datasets such as GBIF and how you dealt with it.

Let me know if you have advices and questions, and I would be glad to exchange about this tricky question!
