I have received confusing inputs from many, including many reviewers of my articles, in regard to full forms.
For e.g. consider BER, which stand for Bit Error Rate.
1) Few state that at the first instance in the article it must appear as: bit error rate (BER)
2) Few state that at the first instance in the article it must appear as: Bit Error Rate (BER)
Which, among 1) and 2) is correct?

Dear Sridhar Iyer ,
to my opinion, both tpyes 1) and 2) are correct.
You should follow the editorial recommendations of the appropriate jounal, if there is a hint on this subject.
Nevertheless, one should consistently use 1) or 2) throughout the manuscript, if dealing with multiple abbreviations.
