Are careers in e.g. data analyses or epidemiology easier to obtain than careers in basic science fields such as all branches of life sciences that train students on lab work? Please also share any experience in terms of salary.
Also, how important is it to do PhDs in the broad field of health sciences? Or Masters with work experience are similar in terms of return? I understand the need to do PhD for going into academia or become Principle Investigators in studies- but apart from that, how necessary is PhD as a requirement in industries or Govt.?
Final question, how important is university ranking for grad studies, if all available options are in the average range.
