No (it could be a matrix effect). Copper is typically analysed by 'atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS)' or ICP in the ppm or even ppb level. Never heard of Zincon but look the reaction up on the internet (Google).
I obtained a good calibration curve by adjusting the concentration of the zincon dye. Increasing its concentration a bit more than what is recommended in papers made my reading more sensitive. Thanks for the answers!
