First, I calculated the stresses and strains using Matlab for both plane stress and plane strain case and then decided to use Abaqus to contrast my answers.

On Abaqus, for plane stress condition, I had the same values for nodal deformations, stresses, and strains. But for the plane strain condition, I had different values entirely.

Any reason for this and how do I approach this task again?
