Fe(OH)3 to FeOOH conversion

What is the mechanism behind Fe(OH)3 to FeOOH conversion? Does it happen in alkaline conditions? If I mix FeCl3 with NaOH, what can be the end product? Fe(OH)3 or FeOOH? I want to make FeOOH.
