In my research, I need to identify students with low metacognitive skills (regulation). There are lots of methods. But I need to find a method for digital environment.
I'd suggest you to use a digital portfolio with a rubric in which you can check the metacognition skills or design a test to measure the abilities you need to check by using specific questions related to organization skills, study strategies etc. with specific problems to solve. In that way you can check the real skill and not the student's opinion about the skill
meta-cognition is a flexible area. any course has a different method of evaluation. meta-cognition is not the same of a traditional model in which there were defined skills or achievements. in meth-cognition, teacher has to develop a unique method of assessment for each course, each ability, each task and each behavior. so, you must develop an assessment method by which you be able to evaluate any aim you planned and any task you developed. there is no method of assessment for evaluating overall meta-cognitive tasks. assessment methods could be designed via two way. firstly, the aims and tasks you planned, and secondly, the foundations of meta-cognition theory.
