While the nude mice have no adaptive immune response, they still have an active innate immune system that may recognize components of FBS via PRRs or through complement binding to antibodies in the serum. Therefore don't use FBS to avoid an innate immune response that may clear part of your tumor xenograft before it is able to establish itself.

FBS could also be used. I had no probs with using FBS nor it causes inflammation
When harvesting cells for implant we always process and concentrate cells using FBS free media, usually RPMI.
For adherent cell lines, the FBS+ media is used to stop the Trypsen/EDTA reaction and then a 2 step cell concentration using FBS free media
Thank you all for your suggestions. I think the consensus is not to use FBS in order to avoid undesirable immune reaction.
