Can anyone recommend a method of preparing Fast Red solution to use in situ? When doing a Google search, each protocol was meant for a different use.
I use the following solution for ISH with excellent results.
Nuclear Fast Red (Kernechtrot) Solution
Nuclear fast red ------------------------- 0.1 g
Aluminum sulfat ------------------------ 5 g
Distilled water 100 ml ---------------------------
Dissolve aluminum sulfate (Sigma, Cat # 368458-500G) in water. Add nuclear fast red and slowly heat to boil and cool. Filter and add a grain of thymol as a preservative.
Suggested Staining Time
5 minutes
Thanks Giuseppe, I will try this protocol, have you tried Fast Red Napthol ?
From sigma, we already have it but it is not giving very strong staining, any idea about this ?
