Eryngium proteiflorum: habitat and cultural requirements?

Can anyone kindly give habitat-based or horticulturally derived advice on the cultivational requirements for Eryngium proteiflorum, in particular light/shade, temperature, moisture/ drainage and soil pH preferences? Trying to keep specimens happy for forthcoming UK National Collection and struggling with this particular species. Other UK growers we have consulted also find this particular plant a challenge. Thank you!
