Greetings,

Here I am again with another problem. This time I’m simulating a laminar transient flow over a sphere (Reynolds number = 300) with OpenFOAM. Some of the “numerical” results seems to be reasonable: drag coefficient (CD) = 0.675 (2.9%-error) and Strouhal number (St) = 0.143 (4.3%-error). However, I’m having a lift coefficient (CL) different than 0 and the flow wake is not symmetric to the XY plane. Please, see some pictures of my simulation in this website http://imgur.com/a/eQ8YG for more details.

Mesh

I’ve tested a 30% finer mesh, and the CD results changed only 0.5%.

Simulation parameters

I’m using a modified icoFoam solver (PISO algorithm), that I modified to change Courrant number (Co) automatically and made Co
