i am studying the variables (study of initial dye concentration ) for removing methylene blue (mb) using a composite that i prepared. the results showed that on increasing dye conc, the removal percentage increases. i have read some paper and they related it to the reason that increase in initial dye concentration enhances the interaction between dye and adsorbent.
however, many other papers mentioned that on increasing dye conc (mb), the removal % decreased.
now, my question is what this factor depend on ? is it the natural of the adsorbent (composite in my case)? or my reading is wrong. i will be appreciated for any help
For removing methylene blue using a composite material results in increasing dye conc, . The removal percentage of dye increases due to increase in interactions between dye and composite material.
Normally/Mostly, increase in contaminant concentration(dye/organic compound) will result in decrease in the removal percentage of contaminant. May be, in your case the result is different only for initial increase in dye concertation. I suggest you should increase the dye concentration further, i think for more higher concentration of dye you will get the results in accordance with literature.
