I know Matrigel invasion assay is pretty simple. I did in 24 well plate a while ago. Insert Chambers are available readymade from companies.

Wound healing assay is the most easiest way to determine the level proliferation and invasion in cancer cells after that u can also do migration assays like matrigel assay too

Wound healing assay provides information regarding the ability of cancer cells to migrate on a substrate. Transwell assay using Matrigel as a proxi for basement membrane provides information about the ability of cancer cells to digest their way through ECM. Importantly, cells that have the potential to migrate but not digest their way through ECM would effectively still not form metastases. I used both migration and invasion assays in my 2013 study.
