Thank you for your interesting question. Recently, we referred to the closed chain mechanism in both legs, namely during road cycling (1st file, Introduction, p. 403 ).

This reference is to a 1985 paper by A. Huson, one of my Professors of Anatomy.

I shall scan his paper tomorrow and mail it to you, so that you can read his theoretical analysis. However, this is not so much on dynamics - as far as I can remember. In order to get some idea already of his analysis on the tarsal mechanism in particular, I add one of his papers from 2000 - see p. 15 (2nd file).
