By SLM I mean Selective Laser Melting. By roughness I mean surface texture. I would like to know if the roughness values obtained after SLM are known by research so far since I am unable to get this information.
In a DMLS fabricated 18% Ni Maraging Steel 300 - authors have reported Microhardness (HV) of 380+- 7 in X scan strategy and 399+- 4 in XY scanning.
You can refer literature "Effect of laser scanning strategies on texture, physical and mechanical properties of laser sintered maraging steel". Article Effect of laser scanning strategies on texture, physical and...
Number of machine and heat treatment parameters (after SLM process) affects surface roughnesses. Solution treatment of maraging steel increases roughness due to oxidation at high temperature. Printing inclinations also affect surface roughness. Our article has explicit answer to this question. Its in publication phase and will be available in 3-4 weeks, if you are interested to read behaviour of surface roughness variation in PBF process of 18Ni300 maraging steel, in detail.
