Please check the loadings values – if lower than .40 they are irrelevant, if higher, before to proceed to discussion, check if you reversed the scores of negative items; if yes, negative scores shows negative contributions (or a bipolar dimension if you have in the same factor negative and positive loadings).
The values you find in the rotated component matrix are the "loadings" of each item to your factor. It may be thought of as a "correlation" value but not exactly that. If they are reverse coded already, then as Lisete have told you, negative shows negative relations, and positive shows positive relations.
