There seems to be a lot of medicines that are approved for use in Europe and Canada, but not in the US. I understand that there are a variety of reasons for why this might be the case (market opportunity, IP, cost of doing a trial, FDA safety issues etc.). I would love to learn more about this, though. And in particular, is like to be able to get a broader sense of how big this phenomenon is.

Specifically, is anyone aware of lists or databases of drugs approved abroad but not in the US?

If you're not aware of any lists (and I've struggled to find one), how about anecdotally? Are there any drugs that you are aware of - that US patients could benefit from but are not approved?

Thank you!
