We have looked at several Dros & insect cell lines with the aim of culturing excitable neuronal-like cells. However cell are not excitable. Any suggestions for cell lines we may try (tried sf20 tick ML-DmBG3-c2 lines)? Thanks

The development of such cell line seems to have been an open "challenge" in Innocentive in 2011:

But it seems not to have been "solved"!
And none of the 909 insect cell lines currently in the Cellosaurus (see: http://web.expasy.org/cgi-bin/cellosaurus/search?input=%22Insect%20cell%20line%22) seems to fit wih your needs :-(
