Recently I noticed that the Crambid (Grass moth), Parotis cf marginata has a variety of eye colour and patterns. Ranging fom pale brown, green, brown with a black spot etc.
How do these changes in the eyes come about? Are they sex specific or not ?
I can tell about eye color in human. It is realy related with quantity of pigment melanin deposits in the iris, the lowest concentration - grayish, blue up to heaviest -dark brown causing impression of black, which does not exist. Brown color is related with dominant genes and blue with recesive one. In human color is not sex specific
