The pipettes are usually calibrated by the company at room temperature. So, if you work at a different temperature, then your pipette will not dispense the displayed volumes.
Another point to be considered is the liquid sample temperature. When you pipette cold sample, the first dispensed volume is always larger than expected, but subsequent pipetting using the same tip will give the correct volume.
