Another similarly simplified model is the monsoon variation theory – winter monsoon wanes, summer monsoon waxes, and vice versa. All these have not been well evidenced in the current studies of modern climatology.

Yes, you indeed give supportive idea. I see many climatologists questioning about the interplay between westerlies and monsoon system. For me, I still believe modern atmospheric study is necessary before deciphering paleo-atmospheric circulation. For example, whether they are in the same height? etc..
