If i used different general purpose media, Tryptone Soy Agar, Nutrient Agar and Plate Count Agar to culture microbial contaminants in a product, how significant will the enumerations be from each other?
In my opinion yes, as for each Microorganism there is media, or maybe more than one provides the best isolation or cultivation result. And there are many kinds of research about this topic compared between various media for isolation specific MO.
I too think that the choice of media affects the microbial enumeration. Depending on whether we are in a solid environment or not, because for each microorganism there are media where we can obtain the best results of isolation or culture.
Yes as each microorganism has specific needs for proliferation which are individulised in the culture medias.
