I would like to know how I can best establish a model for my multiple regression. I have already my independent variables and the dependent variables, but I would like to learn how to formally write it down and how to include dummy variables, control variables and interactions. Additionally, I would like to learn how to include time in the regression.
If anyone knows a good website or article, please let me know.
Kind of in order of preference from great to "it will work":
1) Take a university course in regression analysis.
2) Consult a statistician or the statistical expert in your department.
3) Read a few books on regression analysis. It will take a few because they might not cover all the topics and because you will have to figure out where the mistakes are in the book. Every text book I have ever used had a few mistakes.
Obviously, taking a course will involve reading a book, and consulting the statistician might still be a good idea. However, after the course you will have a better background to understand what the statistician is trying to tell you and you will have a book that you can refer back to in future problems.
