There is a several-day 8% SDS incubation required for mouse brains I'm studying, and I'd like to label the astrocytes with SR101-hydrazide prior to fixing the sections and then placing them in SDS. Does anyone know if the SDS will destroy the hydrazide?

Hydrazides are used to modify carbonyl or carboxyl groups and create hydrazone linkages. Since SDS does not possess a carboxyl group (SO4 instead), I would think that a hydrazide would NOT react with SDS
