Could l-lysine have the same antiviral support for human bodies like it does against herpes viruses? Would l-lysine prevent the virus from turning on the cell to produce more virus? Has anyone looked at this?
1. the question was about lysine, not lysine-coupled aspririn. 2. I found this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6419779/ which suggests that there is no good evidence that lysine affects Herpes in the first place. So I imagine that it isn't really being looked at with many other more promising candidates.
Dr Gilmore, the conclusion of the paper you cited reads verbatim: "longer duration controlled studies of daily lysine doses exceeding 1.2 g/d are required to definitively test its role in herpes simplex prophylaxis". Speaking of doses, autopsies of Alzheimer's disease patients combined with their medical records showed that those who were chronically taking 4 g/d as Herpes prevention, had significantly lower cytological signs of AD in their brains.
Here is a recent preprint. One of the coauthors is Christopher Kagan who discovered the L-lysine treatment for HSV. While his theory does not seem to be universally accepted, it did work very well for me. The main thing about lysine (as opposed to various drugs which are used against covid) is that it is a food additive available in many countries without prescription. It may help one NOT to get into hospital. But proper clinical trials are sorely needed.
If you spend time with the references in our two papers you will get a deep insight into likely mechanisms. We are currently planning in vitro studies of L-Lysine against SARS-CoV-2. In vitro studies of L-Lysine against HSV demonstrated marked inhibition of viral replication.
I say yes. I have my MS in pathology and my Pathology Professors in 1985 -90 taught that L-Lysine with the combination of Motrin at certain doses in combination works is either prevent a herpes outbreak or if not caught soon enough in the prodromal phase it shortens the period of active disease. I have used the L-Lysine combination for years for my family and patients and it works. The key is keeping the proper balance between Arginine and L-Lysine in a person diet. Learnt this in my Biochemistry and advanced nutrition courses Too much Arginine has a lot of negative effects in the body and as well as too low of L-Lysine Have found those with low L-Lysine intake in their diet and high Arginine intake have more herpetic lesions. It has also been observed by a lab in the USA that persons who have COVID or even the COVID vaccine have an increase incidents in their herpes and other virus related diseases. God gave us natural herps etc to heal ourselves we need to get back to basics and stop messing with nature and stop creating chemicals that are more harmful than the diseases. Lived in Holland 4 yr where the emphasis was on homeopathic treatment and man made chemicals as a last resort. Was healthies when lived in that country and treated homeopathically.
Can you link me the study on this please "It has also been observed by a lab in the USA that persons who have COVID or even the COVID vaccine have an increase incidents in their herpes and other virus related diseases"

They used the combination of zinc ionophores (quina plant bark extract and quercetin); vitamins C, D3 and E; and l-lysine.
RESULTS: "Just under 4% of the compliant test group presented flu-like symptoms, but none of the test group was COVID-positive; whereas 20% of the non-compliant control group presented flu-like symptoms, three-quarters of whom (15% overall of the control group) were COVID-positive."
