I am trying to find some literature on the relation between consumption, identity and migration in order to improve a research proposal. So, I would like to ask, does anyone have any suggestions regarding the effects of migration on identity through consumption? Is there any suggestion or any research on that issue?

i have to ask an additional question before giving hints: Which time and which place?
Because: Migration is a process identifiable already for early hominds. And if you look for example at the transportation process of the neolithic revolution, spreading from South to Middle Eruope, you can find an interesting package of "identity", brought by the immigrating Linear Pottery Culture, which influenced the non-sedentary Ertebolle in the north by transmitting the knowledge about pottery and for sure interaxcting with them and the neigbhouring La Hoguette in intensive ways...
Not to mention later fields of immigration, as connected to the European and non-European colonisations strategys...

With the migration, cultural integration and acculturation, seperation or assimilation can occur. It was mentioned that Acculturation is "Cultural change that is initiated by the conjunction of two or more autonomous cultural systems...it may be the consequences of direct cultural transmission; it may be derived from noncultural causes, such as ecological or demographic modifications induced by an impinging culture; it may be delayed, as with internal adjustments following the acceptance of alien traits or patterns, or it may be a reactive adaptation of traditional modes of life. Its dynamics can be seen as the selective adaptation of value systems, the processes of integration and differentiation, the generation of developmental sequences, and the operation of role determinants and personality factors." (Social Science Research Council 1954). Thus, it need to be asked that does identity influenced by migration through consumption?

Your Answer seems, as if you had a clear scenario in mind - so that you dont search for literature in general on migration and the correlation between migration and economic scenarios, but for a very special field for this?
I think the question is too broad and so it needs to be narrowed down or reworded! Both migration and consumption are big concepts and identity of an individual or a group of people can be changed and/or reconstructed when people migrate to another country! Dietary practice is just one aspect of identity, which can immensely be influenced by the movement of people from one place to another. Think about the diverse identities of diasporas in transnational world!
