That is right . I mean a runner who has hamstring injury should not use taping (k tape) to continue exercising in pre-season training?

Hamstring tape does not improve performance during training or in period after injury. It can have positive impact on pain relief and function.
Even though the evidence related to improved functional performance with taping is lacking, I use taping on myself during tennis matches and feel that it provides tissue support--possibly due to the tactile component. I have also found it to provide subjective relief in some patients. Taping is an inexpensive, quick, and easy intervention - certainly an adjunct to other modalities and worth a try. I only use ROCK tape as it is a higher quality tape and stays on better - remove with oil. When applying, lay it on the skin gently with 10% or less stretch to help avoid skin pulling and irritation. Instruct patients to remove the tape if any skin irritation develops. With kids, a helpful clinical trick to protect the skin is to paint the area with Milk of Magnesia, let it dry and then apply the tape.
