The RBC size was very much reduced in the smear. When fresh sample was taken a better smear was formed showing perfect shaped RBCs.
Was the former case due to freezing the tubes?
I got the answer as by using fresh blood kept in EDTA tubes showed perfectly shaped RBC. FREEZING AND THAWING HAD ALTERED THE SHAPE AND SOME CELLS EVEN GOT BURST.
the temperature variation did had an effect in RBC shape.
