I am trying to see if there is literature on the number of copies of 16srRNA in a Treponema pallidum spp pallidum genome (I was not successful after thorough research). If not, what would be the best statergy to identify the 16srRNA copies from the currently available genome data in NCBI?
Abhijeet Singh Thanks for the answer. I think i should have better worded my question. I was looking for average number of 16srRNA transcripts in a TP bacteria. I think the regular whole genome DNA sequencing will not answer this question.
Dear Munegowda Chandrappa Koralur do you mean 16S copy number, or variable regions number? Or something else? Please give more information. Regarding 16srRNA transcripts, do you mean types, kinds of transcripts?
Andrei S. Babenka , thanks for the response. Yes, i mean the 16sRNA transcripts/ copy numbers. I am looking at the total 16sRNA transcripts (if there are different types, i will be interested to know that as well) to use this as a diagnostic target for reverse transcriptase real time PCR. Hope this adds more information to the question.
