In some thin sections I'm working on I've noticed a type of intergrowth in clinopyroxene. The symplectite is usually partially or completely enveloped in another grain of clinopyroxene. In the picture I've attached to this post you can see a yellow/greenish grain of cpx surrounded by a first order gray cpx. It appears as though the yellow cpx is replacing the gray cpx, which leads to the formation of the symplectite. Does anyone know what this is?

I am not sure the yellow/greenish mineral is a symplectite. Why information on rock type is missing. Suggest that microprobe analyses of the lamellar grey Cpx and the yellow mineral with unmixed ? another phase will help in interpretation.
The above link is very nice information. Microprobe analysis would be important I think, too. Microprobe analysis is something I would have personally added to my research to solve unanswered questions.
I feel it is akin to "inverted pigeonite". As suggestedStanislav Vrana EPMA might help.

The rock is a wehrlite. Sadly my institution doesn't have a microprobe so I cannot perform the analysis at this time.
