I tried to find some information about Candidiasis skin infections in AGP and in these literatures they mention only crop and GI infection. Does anyone has some informations about skin infection because it is very peristent?
as you know, Candida albicans is an opportunistic yeast that can cause a variety of problems. Skin lesions, particularly on the head and neck, have been described in companion birds and pigeons. I draw your attention to the following article:
Tudor DC. Mycotic infections of feathers as a cause of feather pulling in pigeons and psittacine birds. Vet Med Sm Anim Clin 1983, 78(2): 249-253.
I think, therapy of cutaneous candidiasis is as the same as other mycotic dermatites. You can find it in the literature, such as the files Mr. Huberman sent.
I am going to give you a straightforward answer to your question. Oral fluconazole and topical clotrimazole have been commonly used to treat cutaneous mycosis in pet birds.
Would use the Rife frequency treatment with plasma light and the mortal oscillating rate frequency for the Candida yeast.. combined with giving hydrogen enhanced water to drink and bath
if this is only a superficial wound, iodine is fine (if you can aplly it) but as Mahboud Salavati said: it an opportunistic fungi, you should try to discover the primary cause of the problem
Candidal infections of the skin are very uncommon in Grey parrots on a good plane of nutrition and with a normal immune response. As others have noted is is highly opportunistic, yet in psittacines is rarely a cause of superficial dermatoses. certainly, treatment with systemic and topical fluconazole, and/or topical enniconazole should eliminate the Candida sp. Does this bird have a circoviral infection? This is a common cause of immunosuppression in Grey parrots.
