It seems the capillary model of pores formation in deep penetration welding makes it possible to predict the pore’s frequency and their volume depending on the welding speed. The predictions are in a good agreement with two experiments that have been found in the published literature. According to these experiments, there exists some value of welding speed, at which the pore formation stops. The prediction of this value may be useful for the preliminary designing of welding technology.

I am very interested in expanding the verification framework and also in testing of this model in laser welding.
