i have always wondered what type of viral pathogen could be responsible for the case of mastitis in dairy cows besides other pathogens. As i know some viruses cause a lesion on the skin or teat of cows thereby facilitate secondary bacterial/fungi invasion to the paranchyma of udder. i want to detect by molecular diagnostic technique either from milk or lesion from clinical form of mastitis.

Viruses do not cause mastitis in dairy cows, only bacteria, fungi and in one case, algae can cause mastitis. However, there's such a thing as mammalitis which is caused by a herpes virus but this is not mastitis.
