Bivalent antibodies can cause capping and induce internalization. Also you need to be sure your antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope. Biotinylation is the best way to follow this. We have published a protocol you might find useful.:

Hi, I don't know if its going to help but I wanted to share my ideas. You can use TIRF microscopy, combined with special fluorescent tags like IRAP-pHluorin, Dendra2 etc., to visualize recycling of cell surface proteins. You have to choose the best option for your protein of interest. Please look at the following papers for details. Data analysis is complicated but you can adopt the most suitable method for you!
