4T1 cells can simulate the stage 4 of human breast tumor in murine model. I wonder if anybody can help me to know if this cell line has Her2/neu expression on their surface membrane or not? Also I'm about to find that this cell line has estrogen dependency in in vivo model? Does it look like MCF7 cells (estrogen dependent)?
4T1 are typical triple negative breast cancer cell line (ER-, PR-, HER2-), hence they don't express Her2. They are really mesenchymal and they look completely different from the epithelial HUMAN (!) ER+/HER2- MCF7. I saw 4T1-HER2 cells used in Hartman et al, CR 2011. They said that 4T1-HER2 cells were obtained from Dr. Michael Kershaw (Cancer Immunology Program, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Victoria, Australia). Hope this helps.
There are 4t1.2neu or her2 over expressing cells. But i am sorry. I don't know if they are commercially available.
