To clarify, the data are equivalent to pupils who begin in a primary school and then move to a secondary school - not all pupils from one primary school go to the same secondary school.

Primary Schools + Secondary Schools + (Primary Schools * Secondary Schools)

for therandom effects so it is the combinatiosn of both types where they do (say) particularly well or particularly badly
