I have this program and I use an mpu6050 connected to an arduino uno and store the accelerometer values. my problem is that the maximum sample rate I can get is 65Hz up to and with a baud rate of 115200, while looking at the mpu6050 datasheet it can go much higher. Does anyone know how to help me increase the sample rate?
The limit is likely in the Arduino, likely in Serial.Print() execution time. I would just use USB-i2c interface converter to poll the sensor without use of Arduino. Alternativelly, one can use Raspberry Pi and its i2c port.
The first and foremost issue is an Arduino. I know people are getting used to use it instead of proper embedded software and it is just not, nor is it intended to be. It is great educational tool, sometimes great for proof of concept, quick prototype etc. but not for anything close to an actual production ready software. As Nikolay mentioned above, the execution time on it's own could be and likely is at least part of the issue, especially if you are polling.
Don't know what exactly are you intending with this but might be good idea to evaluate possibility of trying some rtos with existing support for at least some of the chips you use if you need real performance.
@Nikolay Pavlov @Jakub Jochec when i use arduino via LabView visa i can increase the sample rate but when i use via linx my sample rate maximize 65Hz. Maybe the problem is on linx arduino connection or in i2c protocol via linx. Have any suggestions?
Sounds more like an Linx problem. Are you sure you have most up to date version? This type of software usually have some XML definitions for different devices and there simply might be wrong/outdated value provided as a maximum.
@Jakub Jochec i want to select data for gait analysis. Maybe have other idea how to make it using arduino and mpu6050?
