Does anyone know how to find out whether crystal structure has been published or not..? I have synthesized reported molecules by different methodology and got a single crystal. I tried to find out crystal structure was published or not but need more clarity. Could you please suggest any other way to know about it?

To know if a structure has been published or not, you must search the Cambridge Structural Database or CSD (https://www.ccdc.cam.ac.uk/structures/?) using the name of the compound as criteria. In general, submit the correct name should find if there are any reports. To make sure you can search for someone who has access to the database, there the search would be carried out with the structure diagram. In the case that you do not find anything, you can say that your structure is new.

thank you for posting this very important technical question which is certainly of broad general interest to many other RG members as well. I full agree wth Analio Dugarte in that the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) is the most important and most comprehensive database of published crystal structures. Next to it comes perhaps the SciFinder, but CSD is more complete. In to make sure that a new crystal structure has not been published before, you have to check the CSD. Unfortunately, both CSD and SciFinder are not accessible for free. Ideally your institution provides you access to these databases. Searches on the general internet are never complete, so you should not rely on information provided through the internet only.

Try Checking with CSD. It has a huge database of crystal structures
One can usually check for or look up structures on the Cambridge structural database. All compounds in their depository have a unique identifier known as CCDC number.
In addition to CSD - which is free if you just want to see if something is in there, by the way - you can use the open crystallography data base. OCD is not complete, but definitely free to search and download cifs. Also, do not dismiss Google Scholar. scholar.google.com It is free and not a bad search engine for literature searches.
