For only two groups and if independent samples than you use independent sample t-test for normally distributed data or Mann Whitney for non parametric data. For paired sample use paired t-test (normal distribution) or Wilcoxon's Matched pairs for non parametric data. Bonferroni test is used for one way ANOVA or repeated measures ANOVA. ANOVA test compares 3 or more groups. Hope this is helpful.

I am assuming you are referring to one way ANOVA. If so, click analyze>compare means> One way ANOVA> Click options and tick exclude cases analysis by analysis then click post hoc tests and tick Bonferroni test. Set p at 0.05 and click continue. You should get output.

You can not perform a Post Hoc test between two groups of participants because you need to have three or more groups to perform a Post Hoc test.

I must disagree with Mr. Sarangapany on one little thing. ANOVA test can compare TWO or more groups, but if we have two groups, then Post Hoc test can not be performed. Than again, if we compare only two groups, Post Hoc test is not necessary.

Thanks Boban. You are right that ANOVA can be done to compare two groups but have never found the necessity to use the test as there are other test that are commonly used.
