Doping of nanowires is very challenging. I would prefer a chemical way rather than a physical method like annealing or ion implantation.
This question has confused us for a couple of years. Recently we find that we can control the oxygen deficiency of TiO2 nano wires, a self-doping method. Please check my list of publication.
Golden electrodes are superior for super capacitors and battery application. However, Au is not economic for disposable. Printable electronics should be built on cheaper materials.
