Any suggestion for simulation of fly ash utilization unit which consist of leaching and carbonation reactors etc.? I have used HYSYS and Aspen plus for simulation of gas-liquid reactions, but don't have any experience for simulation of liquid-gas-solid system. Have you ever used HSC chemistry? Is it possible to simulate whole process in HSC chemistry or you prefer Aspen plus and HYSYS?
Hi. I have never simulated this specific process however I have done simulation for gasification which is a three phase process or at least it has solid particles. To be honest these types of processes are not that much developed in these commercial softwares, but you can try your own codes and implement it in ASPEN plus. so my recommendation to you is first make sure you have the correct model for this chemical process and then try to code it in FORTRAN and call the subroutine in ASPEN plus via RCSTR or RPLUG reactors.

You can use Aspen Plus for this case. You can explore modules from Aspen Plus thoroughly. Please note that you can solve your problem by custom modeling, may be writing your own code in MATALAB and importing this in your Aspen plus simulation envirionment
There are many softwares for process flow sheeting.. I would prefer three of them:
1. ASPEN Plus
2. ASPEN HYSYS
3.ChemCAD
I personally recommend to use ASEN HYSYS
Aspen Plus is an extension of Aspen which was specifically developed for simulating coal processes. For it, oil and organic processing were extensions. It is the only simulator which was originally designed with solids processing in mind.
