I am working with a species of a caddisfly from the Limnephilidae family. I am looking for a paper in which they had worked with the body-mass relationship with the equation M= aL(b). I need the constant a and b, generated with the head size of the larvae. I searched on one paper from Benke et al. 1999, but they generated the constant from the body-length that it is not useful for me.
You can use Benke et al. values of a and b because they were calculated for the equation, which also applies to head width. For example, Table 3 on page 314 shows b for head width. You need to read the paper carefully :)
Thanks for the advise. But also the authors recomend to use the values of the lowest taxonomic level possible to have acquirate results. In my case, the genus I am working is not distributed in the States and it is not enlisted in that paper. And, yes, probably it could work with family level, but the values are not there also. :)
